  I've been taking my son, Aydin, here since we moved to the area and he was only 5 months old. This place is great! We've never had a negative experience! I've had my son in for check-ups and emergencies at different times and every time I called, I was given the choice of which doctor I wanted to see. The staff is always courteous and helpful. My son had a terrible cough one time and I was afraid it was something serious... I remember that they got us in right away. When the doctor came in, he recognized right away that it was a bad case of croup. They even gave him the medicine for it right there in the office and said he would be better within 4 hours... 1 hour later, he was SO much better. I was so glad that we go to this office where the doctors know what they're doing! I would (and do) recommend this office to anyone who has kids and wants a place with knowledgeable doctors and professional, friendly staff. Oh, and the nurses on the helpline go above and beyond - after being referred to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh (which was also a great place!), we were having trouble getting ahold of the right department at the hospital. So I called PCS and talked to a nurse (Jennifer or Jenny?) and she not only looked up the right number, but she called me AFTER HOURS just to make sure I got through! Great service all around :)

  4 reasons I like Pediatric Care Specialists: 1. I live in Altoona which is about an hour from their main office, but they have a location in Ebensburg too which is only about 20 minutes away. This is a BIG plus. Your child gets professional, experienced care without a long drive. 2. When you call to make an appointment, you can pick any day of the week, you can choose from a bunch of locations, and you can even choose which provider you want your child to see. 3. They can almost always get your child seen the same day you call. This is much better than the other pediatricians in the area with whom you have to book an appointment days in advance. 4. The wait to be seen is short. If you've been to other doctors, you know how important this is. At other doctors offices, I've waited for almost an hour after my scheduled appointment. The wait is never long at PCS.
